Artem Chigvintsev Makes Subtle Nod to Wife Nikki Garcia After Domestic Violence Arrest

Artem Chigvintsev has been making changes to his social media profile in wake of his arrest for domestic violence.
The Dancing With the Stars pro removed and then re-added his wife Nikki Garcia's name to his Instagram bio in recent days, according to multiple reports.
As of Sept. 7, it reads, "Father to Matteo, DWTS Pro Dancer, Emmy Nominated Choreographer, DWTS Mirror Ball Winner, SCD Mirror Ball Winner @nikkigarcia," along with emojis of a bride and a red heart emoji.
The changes were made about a week after Chigvintsev was arrested Aug. 29 in Napa, Calif. on a California Penal Code 273.5(a) charge relating to injuring a spouse or cohabitant, according to booking records viewed by E! News. He has since been released from police custody on a $25,000 bond.
Before he was detained, the pro dancer had called 911 for medical assistance and told the dispatcher that Garcia had thrown shoes at him after they got into an argument, according to a radio dispatch call obtained by TMZ. The dispatcher also confirmed that there was "a child on scene."
The 42-year-old, who shares son Matteo with Nikki, had tried to call off the paramedics before police arrived at the house.
Chigvintsev—who will not return for the upcoming 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars—has not commented publicly about the arrest. E! News has reached out to his rep and has not heard back.
Garcia's rep told E! News in an Aug. 30 statement, "This is a private matter and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time."
The 40-year-old, whose family owns a $1.5 million home in Napa, was photographed two days after the arrest without her wedding ring. The former WWE wrestler, previously known as Nikki Bella, was spotted catching a private flight out of Oakland, Calif. Aug. 31.
Days later, she co-hosted Netflix’s live event Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef alongside Rob Riggle.
"Thank you everyone, I’m so happy to be here," she said, smiling, then told a fan, "I love you, too."
